In my experience in treating men with Premature Ejaculation (PE), the most common causes are psychological in nature, and often include:
- Unresolved psychological conflicts
- Performance Anxiety - that is to say, worrying about what a partner will think of their sexual performance
- Fear of being judged
- Anticipation of Premature Ejaculation (PE) happening
- Underlying anxiety or stress
- Worrying about past experiences
- Having grown up in an environment where sex was seen as ‘dirty’, or where sexuality was often suppressed or used to induce guilt
(Sometimes, Premature Ejaculation (PE) can be caused by a physical cause such as an infection, so it’s always an idea to talk to your doctor).
